Working with colored gemstones is a treat in my profession — one that demands a slower eye and a sharper instinct. Unlike the efficiency of sourcing white diamonds through platforms like RapNet, curating exceptional sapphire layouts is an entirely different game. It’s personal. Intimate. Unrushed.
This particular band began with an existing suite of emerald-cut sapphires, remarkable in their color, saturation, tone, and faceting. What set them apart, however, was their millimeter spread: large face-up dimensions, without the unnecessary depth often seen in “bottom-heavy” cuts meant to artificially enhance color. That distinction matters — not just visually, but for wearability.
High-set eternity bands with stones over one carat each are rarely comfortable. This execution, by contrast, is low-set and clean. Additional sapphires were matched and trimmed to complete the layout in a larger finger size, honoring the original proportions while upgrading the fit.
A subtle transformation — practical, stunning, and entirely made to live in.
