Not all materials are suited for everyday wear — and not all jewelry is meant to last forever.
This Indicolite tourmaline was reset four times across a long-standing relationship with one of my most stylish clients. Each iteration reflected both her evolving style and my own sensibility as a designer. But with each version, the toll of time and wear on this soft stone became increasingly evident — abraded facet junctions, dulled surfaces, and worn edges.
Before parting ways with its final design, I captured the piece in its penultimate form. A slender, elongated setting housed the Indicolite low on the finger, with a crescent of round brilliant diamonds arcing alongside. This wasn’t an afterthought; it was a calculated composition of line and space — a study in contrast, tension, and asymmetry.
Proof that even impermanence can be unforgettable.
